Pink, blue, gold — the three cities that made Rajasthan famous, in one clean westward line. Jaipur for the palaces and the observatory, Jodhpur for Mehrangarh above the indigo lanes, and Jaisalmer for a living sandstone fort and the dunes beyond it. Seven days is the honest length for this route; we can compress it to five or open it to nine.

How long?

Five, seven
or nine days?

Seven days is the length this route actually wants. Five is doable if you fly into Jaipur and out of Jaisalmer and accept that two of your days are largely drives. Nine lets you slow down and add Bikaner between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, or Pushkar between Jaipur and Jodhpur.

If you only have four days and Jaisalmer is the reason you are coming, skip Jaipur altogether and run the Jodhpur–Jaisalmer loop instead. It is a better trip than a rushed version of this one.

Short on time? Our most-booked Rajasthan itinerary drops Jaipur and gives you Mehrangarh, Sonar Qila and the Sam dunes in four unhurried days.

Good to Know

Questions,
answered

Seven is the comfortable answer: two days in Jaipur, two in Jodhpur, two in Jaisalmer with a dune night, and one long travel day between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. Five works if you are willing to spend two of them mostly on the road.
Jaipur to Jodhpur is a comfortable half-day drive west. Jodhpur to Jaisalmer is about 285 km and roughly five hours. Most travellers fly into Jaipur and leave from Jodhpur or Jaisalmer rather than doubling back.
Jaipur's old city was painted a terracotta pink; Jodhpur's old quarter below Mehrangarh is washed in indigo blue; and Jaisalmer is built entirely from golden sandstone, which is why its fort is called Sonar Qila. Seeing the three in a row is the point of this route.
Yes. Bikaner drops neatly between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer and adds a day. Udaipur, with Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur, adds three and turns this into a ten-day loop of the whole state. Everything we run is private, so the shape is yours.
From ₹9,999 per person on double sharing. Across seven days the final figure moves with hotel category, group size and season. Send us your dates and group and we will WhatsApp an exact, itemised quote — no advance needed to enquire.
October to March. Jaisalmer and Jodhpur are punishing from April to June. December and January are lovely by day and cold at night in the desert — bring a jacket for the dune camp.
